Free Spring Activities in the Berkshires

The kiss of the sun for pardon,
The song of the birds for mirth,–
One is nearer God’s heart in a garden
Than anywhere else on earth.
Dorothy Frances Gurney
There are so many free activities to enjoy in the Berkshires. The beauty of this Spring weather has had us outside for hikes, garden tours, and alfresco dining. Our garden has burst out in riot of spring green and beautiful bright spring yellows, reds, pinks, whites and even blues! The viburnum is perfuming the entire yard. Lilacs are blooming today. Crabapples are about to burst forth! The sun is out and it just rained a few minutes ago. This spring is especially glorious because we waited so long for it to warm up. Now, all of the early spring flowers and trees are in full splendor, and we are filled with energizing joy! Yes, we also have lots of gardening chores and projects planned too, for an upcoming Garden Tour in Lee, June 23rd. So, we decided to get some inspiration at the
Mount in Lenox. This is open to the public off-season for garden and woodland trail walks. The best part of the walk was that I got to take my dogs ~ yes ~ take my two dogs on a garden tour! Now that it is officially spring, we also like to hike at
Kennedy Park in Lenox.
Lenox is only a 10 minute ride from my house. Come along with me and I’ll show you around!
